Accountant

Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Professional Accountant to manage the financial affairs of our association. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with financial regulations and providing strategic financial guidance to support the association’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements. 
  2. Accounting and Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger. 
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts and financial projections to support the association’s strategic planning.
  4. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including tax laws and accounting standards. 
  6.  Financial Planning: Provide strategic financial guidance to support the association’s goals and objectives.
  7. Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure financial integrity and minimize risk. 
  8. Audit and Risk Management: Liaise with auditors and manage audit processes, including risk assessment and mitigation.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications: Minimum of HND/BSc Accounting. ACA, ACCA, or/and their equivalents are added advantages.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience in accounting and/or finance, preferably in a similar association or non-profit organization.
  3. Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Salient to Have:

  1. Non-profit accounting experience: Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations specific to non-profit organisations.
  2. Financial software: Proficiency in financial software (QuickBooks specifically) and spreadsheet tools.
